Coming back...

My weekend was too busy.

Saturday was “No Car Day”, so I thought it was an ideal opportunity to run in Vila Madalena. It was a real scorcher! It’s even worth a poll:

Which is worse: running in hot or cold weather?

The perfect match would be something in between, but each one has its “pros” in adverse situations.

Back to my weekend: There was a “Virada Esportiva”, a 24-hour event that encourages people to practice sports all over the city. So, I decided to stop by Latin America Memorial to play soccer.
On Sunday, another very hot day, I went to Horto to run and watched soccer games on TV.
We won the classic match: Palmeiras 1 X 0 Corinthians.
I feel very sore today, but I’ll talk about it on my next post.

HOT gets my vote in the poll. hands down.

in fact, there is something i love about running in sub-freezing temperatures. it is the kind of pain that is bearable in my opinion. i tend to run harder because i want to warm my body up. it is a kind of stinging and a numbness in the lungs from the cold air. then, it is so rewarding to come into the warm afterwards.

however, in the hot, it just makes everything harder. i feel heavier. i run slower. i see stars. i want to throw up. i grew up in texas where it is 100+ in the summer, and i remember those dreadful summer days of football practice. it is a feeling i could live without for the rest of my life.
